I'm lucky I didn't sell my old power wheelchair, why??? Well the charger just stop charging my current wheelchair... I got my room-mate to help me transfer my stuff I have on my chair to my old one... It doesn't have much of a range but at least it charges-up!!! and it sux I can't call anyone about it til Monday maybe even have to wait til Tuesday... but than again most likely nothing is going to happen til Florida Medicaid Appeal Board makes it's mind up... It really sux having to relay on this appeal/approval BULL!!!

now that my wheelchair isn't charging-up anymore at all, the charger for the wheelchair has died it will not charge the batteries and Florida's Medicaid System are being ASSHOLES about fixing it... 
So, I really need this now!!!

I'm starting to wonder if it the charger or the batteries that is having major issues right now... this doesn't seem to cost too much n the current batteries are still under warranty, but still waiting on Florida to get approval to replace the charger... I'm very concerned the batteries aren't getting a good charge!!!

WTF??? Update!!!

Ok will have do an appeal to get approval to have the Battery Charger replaced!!! A very big Pain in the AZZZZZZ but guess it has to be done that way... The Florida Medicaid system thinks wheelchair parts last for at least 5years so that's when they want to replace items... Hey maybe if thing where made they where ages ago that might have been true but things breakdown/wear-out and when in a wheelchair for your mobility people really on things more...

I was even told well a wheelchair isn't your car!!! WTF WTF WTF!!! Duh No Sh!t it's not a car!!! the girl on the phone told me the medical board of Florida doesn't think/want disable people using powered wheelchairs to go outside of their homes except for medical appointments!!! it's almost like she said "So, basically get back indoors cripple!!!" {note: she didn't say that but she might as well have said it...}
She did say my wheelchair isn't a car... I'm like DuH!!! I wouldn't try to ride my(mother's) car on a bus!!! But I do use my wheelchair on a bus to go around town... I rarely go out of the house... I do use my wheelchair to go about a mile away to church, half a mile to WalMart or Publix to get food n etc... When I want to go to the Mall, BestBuy or My Doctor(on other side of town) I use the Bus system to get me there... So it's not like I'm cruising Bradenton... Where would I stop to charge up??? I have to plan my trips out doors to make sure I have a charge(n money which is hard to do on SSI) to get there n back home...

But I felt like civil rights went back in time... get out of sight you F'in cripple we don't want to see you or care about your wheelchair needs...
(note: people that know me know I HATE the word Cripple(to me; Cripple is to me like the 'N' word is to others) but I really felt that I was being called that n treated as that today!!!)

I Am Going to try to get a Florida ADA Lawyer AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if anyone knows of any in Florida Please Please forward info to them n me ASAP!!!

I hope me post is understandable I'm So Upset I'm unsure if I wrote clearly...

the Scooter Store called n told me my insurance has denied the replacement of the battery-charger saying they don't see the need... WTF WTF!!! Don't see the need to be able to charge my batteries... My opinion they are just adding this appeal thing/process to prolong them from having to pay for it... but come on it needs to be replaced ASAP... now they are saying Medicaid thinks the Battery... charger only needs to be replace once every 5 years well what about when it dies before 5yrs WTF then???? n hey it hasn't been replaced yet so WTF!!!
F'in DamIT being bound to a WheelChair really blows unless you have the funds to get things fixed yourself(well it blows anyways for being limited in mobility) but it doesn't help that there are people out there that abuse the system n then you have the politicians that say they care but only want thing for themselves... WTF!!!

I left a message on the appeal process voice mail if my repair isn't approved that when my chair no longer functions I would have to be placed into a nursing home which would cost WAY more than fixing my chair...

DamIt, WTF is going on with my WheelChair???

I think my charger is F'd I plugged in yesterday about 8pm to charge overnight, went to my new church this morning (fairly close to where I live) when I got to church chair cattery level was showing in was getting low... the church allowed me to plug in to their wall (was hoping to go to my old church to tell them I would no-longer be member of the LDS ...church) and it looked like the chair was charging but suddenly the charger Stopped I unplugged n checked battery level still low... WTF I re-plugged into the charger n the charger would charge for a dew minutes then stop again I so I had to keep plugging in n unplugging the charger from the wall... I was barely able to get home I had 1 led on n flashing warning it was about to be totally out of power... I home now(duh) n trying to charge the chair because 2 reasons it Needs to be charged n I have a class at 4:30 for my new church(kind a joining into thing, they even use a college term '101') my have to use my mother's scooter to go to it...
So, I guess I need to call the Scooter Store again tomorrow and light a fire under their Azzes to get them to fix this problem... They advertise how they want to help get people mobile but I have been having a number of issues get them to do good tech work on wheelchairs... in my opinion I think they mainly only care about their sales not up-keep of the products... Heck last week when I told them I was having issues they said well maybe it needs new batteries n they would need insurance approval to get them... I said hold on you just replaced the batteries n she said well we only warranty them for 6months so you need approval to another set... again I said wait they aren't even 6months old yet... Her voice n demeanor changed n she sounded disappointed "are you sure???" I said "Yes"... a pause than she said "Let me check... ah... oh... you are right... I guess if they need to be replace I guess we will have to do it..." I'm like "yes... so now will you come again to look at the chair..." she was still depressed sounding after we talk to your insurance... I Now Need them to Fix this ASAP!!! I am going to inform my insurance they NEED new a new contract with another medical supply company because I don't believe the Scooter Store cares at All except for the almighty greens/cash!!! So, My advise to everyone STAY FAR AWAY from the Scooter Store!!!
